Visit Nepal Year 2020 and PATA Nepal organizes a Promotional Reception Program in New Delhi

New Delhi, PATA Nepal Chapter and Visit Nepal Year 2020 Secretariat organized a VNY2020 and NICE Reception Program (followed by Hi-Tea) for Indian Travel and Tourism Fraternity on 5th December 2019 at The Park Hotel in New Delhi, India. About 60 key industry stakeholders and operators from India took part in the program.

PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration with Visit Nepal Year 2020 and Nepal Tourism Board is organizing the NICE (Nepal India China Expo) to be held from Feb. 22-25, 2020; bringing together tourism and hospitality stakeholders and organizations from public and private sectors of the three neighboring countries (Nepal, India and China) on a single platform by facilitating all three nations with unparalleled networking and business opportunities, industry insights and inspiration.

PATA Nepal Chapter General Secretary Mr. Bibhuti Chand Thakur initiated the program by welcoming invitees and distinguished dignitaries from PATA and other tourism associations of India.

Mr. Sunil Sakya, Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter, extended welcome remarks and thanks to all the present prominent tour operators of Indian Tourism. He also presented about the Visit Nepal Year 2020 and NICE program during the Tourism Powerhouse event organized by PATA India Chapter on 6th December that witnessed by 400+ stakeholders from Indian Tourism Fraternity.

Mr. Rohini Khanal, Manager of VNY 2020, presented about the programs and initiatives undertaken by the Govt. of Nepal to mark the national celebration of Visit Nepal Year in 2020. He shed light on the objectives, importance and priorities of the VNY 2020 campaign inviting all the present to visit and promote Nepal through their extended network and relations in the Indian tourism industry.

PATA Nepal Chapter CEO, Mr. Suresh Singh Budal gave the presentation about PATA Nepal’s initiatives and programs for the VNY 2020 with emphasis on NICE (Nepal India China Expo) and its importance for the sustainable growth of tourism in the region.

Dr. Mario Hardy (CEO of PATA International) addressing at the program appreciated the initiative of the PATA Nepal Chapter with NICE as PATA is focusing more on collaboration and partnership as the key to ensure the sustainability of tourism in the world. He mentioned that some parts of the world are experiencing ‘over-tourism’; while many others are facing ‘under-tourism’. PATA, therefore, advocates for more collaboration and partnership between the countries and PATA Chapters to ensure a better-balanced distribution of travel for sustainable growth.

Mr. Runeep Sangha, Executive Director of PATA India also shared his remarks and assured that PATA India Chapter as the Strategic Partner would extend all possible cooperation and support for NICE.

Mr. Ajeet Bajaj, the Renowned Personality in Adventure Tourism in India and NICE Ambassador, complemented on Nepal’s visionary initiation for organizing NICE, as these countries (Nepal, India, and China) are the custodians of the Himalayan range. He mentioned that through closer cooperation in tourism, the farfetched regions of Himalayan range can be integrated into the mainstream and also adventure tourism can be promoted in a safe and sustainable manner in some of the border areas of the Himalayan region which will eventually act as a great force multiply for tourism in all three countries.
