Muktinath, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning held a special worship at the Muktinath temple – located in the trans-Himalayan district of Mustang.
PM Modi, who is on a two-day state visit to Nepal, offered prayers and got engaged in ritualistic worship at the temple for 20 minutes with priests Krishna Prasad Subedi and Jhuma Gurung. The Indian PM took part in the Shodashopachara worship ceremony which involves sixteen ritualistic services and mantra recitations.
The visiting Indian PM stayed in Muktinath area for one and a half hours. Modi flew to Muktinath on a special chopper.
PM Modi has returned to Kathmandu where he will be offered a civic-reception by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC). He is also scheduled to pay homage to Lord Pashupatinath after which he will return to India.
