Rajbiraj, July 19: The Nepal Police Wives Association on Tuesday distributed relief to as many as 19 families struck by flooding here.
Centre’s Chairperson Sima Aryal distributed the relief packages amidst a function held at the premises of the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur.
The families from Tirhut rural municipality – 2 and 5 and Kanchanrup municipality – 9 were affected by flooding after swollen rivers and streams breached their banks on July 1.
The displaced families received blankets, beaten rice, soaps, kitchen utensils, plastic vessels among other essential commodities. A total of 1,500 houses were inundated in the monsoon – triggered flooding. RSS
